The Pioneer Cup

Congratulations to the North (Elkview) squad and thier victory in our 5th annual Pioneer Cup. Us Sout (Colonial) guys made the trek North for the 2nd time with the same results.....we simply cannot figure out those damn greens. The Elkview guys turned that into a resounding 99 - 81 decision.

I do have a correction as I stated that this was a record setting score. The record, which still stands, was our 104 - 76 win here at Colonial just last year. We made a strategic move last year and ordered up a ton of rain which prohibited carts and everyone had to walk. Nuf said on that.

This years match was actually relatively close after the firs 3 formats with the North only up 3 points. Then, as in our last trip North in 2017, the individual matches were a landslide toward the home team.

Mike Hoppes was the horse for the losing South team with 20 total points for the weekend. Billy Owens led the way for the North Team with 23 points.

One last shout out to the North squad on the hospitality. Friday's grub was excellent....THANK YOU!!! The weather worked out beautifully. Great friends and great fun. Thanks, guys!!!!
